If the current music scene is any indication of what type of vibe is ahead for the 2018 summer season, it's already lit.
Less than 24 hours after Cardi B broke the Internet with the release of her highly-anticipated debut album, Invasion of Privacy, Drake followed suit with a new single that has everyone talking for more reasons than one.
Appropriately titled, "Nice For What," the song hears Drizzy give a lyrical salute to all the hard-working, no-nonsense women of the world, while also paying homage to the New Orleans Bounce movement. Add in a little help from 2018 ESSENCE Festival performer Big Freedia and a sample of Lauryn Hill's "X-Factor," and it's not hard to see why it's already burning up the timeline.
And because the video for a song celebrating boss ladies wouldn't be quite complete without some of our faves, the star-studded music video for the single features cameos from Misty Copeland, Tiffany Haddish, Tracee Ellis Ross, Issa Rae, Yara Shahidi, Jourdan Dunn and Letitia Wright, to name just a few.
Check out the visual for Drake and Big Freedia's summer anthem, "Nice For What," above and then be sure to grab your tickets to see Big Freedia light up the stage alongside over 40 more of music's biggest names at the 2018 ESSENCE Festival in New Orleans this July.
See you in NOLA!
