Denzel Washington will reprise his Tony Award-winning performance on the big screen in the film adaptation of August Wilson’s Pulitzer prize-winning play Fences.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Washington and his former Broadway co-star, Viola Davis will both reclaim their Tony Award-winning roles for the project about a once beloved baseball player who works as a garbage collector in Pittsburgh.

Washington will also direct the film.

In 2015, Washington told EW that he would be directing 10, and executive producing nine, of August Wilson’s plays for HBO after receiving consent from the playwright’s estate. “I’m really excited about that — that [the estate] would put that in my hands and trust me. That’s good enough for me. It doesn’t get any better than that.”
