Fifteen years after Denzel Washington scored an Oscar for his portrayal of rogue narcotics detective Alonzo Harris in the 2001 crime thriller film Training Day, a reboot is soon coming to the small screen.

Deadline reports CBS ordered a pilot that will begin 15 years after the movie left off, and will reimagine the original plot and its characters. This time, the older cop is White and the rookie officer (originally played by Ethan Hawke) is Black. The series will highlight “an idealistic young African-American police officer who is appointed to an elite squad of the LAPD where he is partnered with a seasoned, morally ambiguous Caucasian detective.”

Antoine Fuqua, the film’s director, will also spearhead the television reboot alongside executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
