For all the moms and dads struggling to talk to their children about the tragic and racially charged deaths of Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, Sandra Bland, Laquan McDonald, Trayvon Martin and Freddie Gray and the subsequent protests, Black-ish has an answer: just talk to them.

The conversations won’t be pretty but they will be honest and as the ABC sitcom poignantly proves on Wednesday night’s award-worthy installment titled “Hope,” such exchanges are the only way to foster a tangible sense of change.  Just have the tissues handy. This episode will bring tears to your eyes.
