The weekend has arrived, bringing good news along with it.
Netflix has renewed its hit show On My Block for a second season, meaning fans will find out what Jamal plans to do with all that RollerWorld money and if Ruby and Olivia’s love will continue after the show’s dramatic first season finale.
But, while we wait for the second season, there are a number of titles headed to the streaming service that are worth a watch. Here are five titles to check out this weekend and a full list of titles headed to Netflix so you can plan the perfect marathon.
Chiwetel Ejiofor stars in this drama based on the life of Evangelist minister Carlton Pearson. Pearson, who led one of the largest churches in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Higher Dimensions Family Church, faced damage to his reputation when he questioned Hell’s existence. Condola Rashad, Lakeith Stanfield, and Danny Glover also star.
Rapper and mogul JAY-Z opens up to Letterman about fatherhood, infidelity, and his mom coming out in this revealing interview. Jay joins a number of notable names, including former president Barack Obama, in this series from the former Late Night host.
While we still feel some type of way about Michael Rainey Jr.’s Power character Tariq, we’re happy to see the actor taking on the role of Terron Forte, a young basketball star who struggles to fit in at his new school as he balances two different worlds.
