Ava DuVernay has been holding onto a secret about her OWN tv series for four months and now she’s ready to share some good news.

Ndegoccello made her musical debut in 1993 with the album “Plantation Lullabies” which incorporated elements of jazz, R&B, rock and hip-hop. The German-born Grammy nominated musician will certainly bring her creative genius to the series!

Queen Sugar debuts as a two-night event on Tuesday, September 6 and Wednesday, September 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on OWN. The series will regularly air Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. ET/PT for the remainder of its 13-episode first season.
