This Queen Had The Best Clap Back When Someone Tried To Slut Shame Her At The 'Slut Walk'

This Queen Had The Best Clap Back When Someone Tried To Slut Shame Her At The ‘Slut Walk’
By Paula Rogo · Updated October 23, 2020

When model Samirah Raheem was interviewed by the conservative Reverend Jesse Peterson while attending Amber Rose’s 2017 Slut Walk, she did not know that  video of that conversation would be resurrected a year later and go viral based on her one cry:

“We are all sluts!”

And that’s what happened once the world witnessed this young queen refuse to be body or slut-shamed by Peterson. In that one conversation, she owned every part of who she is while also putting the reverend in his place.

Peterson is known to be a conservative shock jock who has thanked white folks for slavery and blamed “black culture” for the suffering caused by Hurricane Katrina, Blavity reports

But he met his match in young miss Raheem when he asked to interview her during the Slut Walk, which is aimed at bringing awareness about sexual injustice and gender inequality.

It went left from the first question in which Peters asked her if she was a slut.

“Yes, we are all sluts. You’re a slut, all these dudes behind you are sluts. Your camera man’s a slut, your PA [production assistant]’s a slut. And your mic’s a slut,“ she responds.

But she drops a sermon when asked why she calls herself a slut.

“Because I own my body. My body is not a political playground, it’s not a place for legislation,” she says.
“It’s mine, and it’s my future.”

The feedback to the video has been incredible and Raheem took to Instagram to thank everyone for their support.

“My body is not a political playground” 🗣 Growing up it’s been a very interesting journey I’ve always been a walking contradiction. I never thought I’d have a voice like this. I was often ashamed of being opinionated and louder than most. I tried to make myself smaller to fit into social circles. I genuinely thank you guys for your overwhelming love & support. There’s no more hiding. Thank y’all for forcing me to step into my unapologetic tongue.
