Partnering with Allstate, Kerry Washington has released a public service announcement on a form of domestic abuse that we rarely hear about in the news: Financial abuse.
“Financial abuse leaves invisible bruises that can take decades to heal,” said Washington, “but there’s hope.”
To raise awareness about financial abuse—which involves the abuser limiting the victim’s access to cash, destroying credit and jeopardizing jobs—Washington is working with the Allstate Foundation’s Purple Purse intitative, to “help women gain control of their purse strings.”
