In tandem with the march, various books authored by women such Issa Rae, Janet Mock and Isabel Allende were available free of charge. Readers had the option to snag their free e-book from Jan. 20th until the day of the march on Jan. 21st.
Judith Curr, president/publisher of Atria Publishing Group, said the free downloads were to “honor everyone marching and those who can’t participate.”
“We’re giving these e-books away as a gift because we feel they embody the spirit of the weekend … these titles is a reward and a wonderful way to spend some time with strong women in the fiction and non-fiction world,” she continued.
