Fans believed the track was a new project from the group, but turns out that’s not the case.

An unreleased track by the Fugees has caused a bit of a stir and now Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean are denying rumors that the group is reuniting.

Saturday night, Funkmaster Flex shared a new untitled song by the group, which sparked gossip that they were working on a new project.

It’s unclear where Flex got the track, but Wyclef and Hill quickly took to social media to let fans know that the track wasn’t new, but an unreleased song from past studio sessions.

"To all my Fugees fans, the song leaked today is a old one from past studio days," Jean confirmed. "I don't endorse it in anyway and had no clue it was coming."

"The 'new' Fugees track is indeed an old track played around with back in the day in the lab," Hill said. "Not sure who leaked it but I have my suspicions."

While The Fugees may not be working on anything new, fans can catch Lauryn Hill on tour this fall as she hits the road with Nas. The pair’s 17 city tour will kick-off September 7 in Chicago.
