Nigerian superstar Wizkid dropped some fresh new music—just in time for Nigerian Independence Day.

His new tune “Joro,” which dropped with an accompanying video, comes after the viral success of his collaboration with Beyoncé on “Brown Skin Girl” from her The Lion King: The Gift. And “Joro” is landing as Nigerians worldwide celebrate their independence from British rule in 1963.

Last July, Wizkid had initially hinted he would drop “Joro” but instead decided to go with his single “Ghetto Love” from his fourth studio project, Made in Lagos, that is set for release this winter.

Earlier this summer, he also made history on Spotify as the first African artist to reach eight million monthly listeners on the streaming platform.

He plans to bring his Starboy Fest back to the O2 Arena in London on October 19.

Check out the vibey video for “Joro.”
