Election Day is just three weeks away and thousands of voters have already begun their early-voting process. The President and First Lady are among the one-third of voters who are estimated to cast their votes before Election Day this year.
First Lady Michelle Obama dropped her absentee ballot in the mail on Monday, October 15. “I couldn’t wait for Election Day,” she tweeted, along with a photo of herself posing with the envelope.
President Barack Obama responded moments later saying he plans to cast an early ballot as well. “I’m following @MichelleObama’s example and voting early, on October 25. If your state has early voting, join me,” he tweeted.
Early voting can take place in two forms: absentee and in-person early voting.
If you live out of state but would like to cast your vote in your home state’s election, you must obtain an absentee ballot. For a list of deadlines for all 50 states and information on requesting an absentee ballot, visit here.

If you are not casting an early vote or absentee ballot, be sure to visit your local voting polls on November 6th from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. to participate in the general election.
