Tameka Foster Responds to Usher’s “Papers”
UPDATE 10/7/09: Usher might be singing the blues about soon-to-be ex-wife Tameka Foster, but the former stylist hits him under the belt subtleyin a blog posted on globalgrind.com.
She implies that Usher’s song, “Papers,” is simply a ploy to get attention and help sell albums and refers to the smoke screened mirrors filled with gimmicks that cloud an artist’s loyalists’ perception.
“The mirrors have definitely become smoky. So much in fact that it makes it hard for one to decipher reality from the facade. Is it Live or Memorex? Even the public should recognize the FF (fame fanatics) who go to such great lengths to garner attention ranging from publicity ploys, outlandish stage outfits, sex tapes, head shaving, public grand standing, picture leaks and throwing tantrums. From vintage concepts of dating shows in hopes of finding a soul mate (huh? #wheredotheydothatat) to trying to hit Billboard Charts by any means necessary. Surely, the fans know better than to think what flows from “the pen” of any writer embodies the details of another human’s deepest and true desires. Sadly, men singing about love, politics, marriage, children or anything genuine and benevolent equates to album sales flop, mundane chatter and waning popularity. It takes a song about disparaging all the aforementioned just to get accolades and spins on the radio. Unlike a mathematical equation the negative induces the positive. The need to placate fans puts artists at their mercy, leading to maniacal decisions. But I guess desperate times call for desperate measures. I digress….”–KNB

Usher Song Lyrics Tell His Side of the Story
Update 10/07/09: Usher’s lyrics are pretty darn personal. Check out some of the words to his latest single, “Papers.”
Verse 1:
I can’t, get to work on time, can’t believe the words to her I just said
But who the hell argue n fight like dogs at 6 in the morning?(in the mornin’)
I know its gonna’ be some more sh** tonight mm oooh
Our pastor’s callin, tellin me I done went too far in
I’m seen around town and my friends can’t recognize me,
‘cuz I took a chance on love(love), it’s like(like), I’m dyin(ooh dyin)
Chorus:
For you I gave my heart and turned my back against the world
‘Cause you were my girl, girl, girl
I done damn near lost my mama, I done been through so much drama
I done turned into the man that I never thought I’d be.
Verse 2:
I’m ready to sign them papers, papers, papers
I done took all I can take but u leave me no options girl
I can’t deny how much I love you, I done gave up errthing I had to
as hard as it is I’m afraid I gotta say
I’m ready to sign them papers, papers, papers
I done took all I can take but u leave me no options girl
Verse 3:
I’m losin my mind, cant figure out who’s wrong or right
I know it’s you I love, but then I also know it’s you I don’t like
You claim you hate who I was, but that’s the reason you here now
You think I don’t know what’s up, but sweetheart that’s what ruined us
I ain’t afraid to say I got needs
but the only time you here for me is when the bottles poppin’ and everything is sweet
But I’m tired of sleeping in the other room spending them long nights
trying to figure out what in the hell in my heart I ain’t do right. (Oooh for u)

Usher Blames Wife for Bad Relationship With Mom
Perhaps Usher’s upcoming album, “Raymond versus Raymond” will pick up where his testimonial effort, “Confessions,” left off, airing some more of his dirty laundry.
Apparently Usher new single, “Papers,” blames his stranged wife, Tameka Foster, for the distance between him and his momager, Jonetta Patton, according to People.com.
“I gave my heart and turned my back against the world ‘cuz you were my girl … I done damn near lost my mama/I done been through so much drama/I done turned into the man I never thought I’d be/I’m ready to sign them papers.”
The ATL crooner and his mom have reunited and are doing business together again. The couple have two kids together, Usher Raymond V and Naviyd.–KNB
