Despite her beef with former co-hosts, the talent will step up to that podium.
We all know and grew to love Tamar Braxton for her amazing voice and as one of the Braxton sisters on their hit reality show, Braxton Family Values. But we also got to know the 40-year-old as one of the five co-hosts on The Real.
Alongside Loni Love, Adrienne Bailon, Jeanie Mai and Tamera Mowry-Housley, the singer starred on the daytime talk show for the first two seasons. Braxton and husband Vince Herbert —who served as one of the executive producers— were fired from the popular talk show last spring, which started a dramatic stream of headlines and Twitter beefs.
In March it was announced that The Real was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host for Season 2 and Braxton opened up about the season she still appeared on.
She told Hallmark’s Home & Family, “It doesn’t matter where I stand in my relationship with anybody. If I’m nominated and I win, I’m going up there to accept my award—period.”
Considering Braxton’s abrupt exit and discord with the remaining co-hosts, it’s interesting that Braxton is willing to put any hard feelings to the side.
“I’m going to be respectful and hopefully everyone else is going to be respectful because it’s a very amazing moment for everybody,” she said. “Everybody is not nominated in their life. You come to Hollywood, you have big dreams, but your nominated for a Daytime Emmy—are you kidding me?”
The Daytime Emmy Awards airs this Sunday April 30 at 8pm ET on Facebook Live and Twitter.
[BLANK_AUDIO] Now I love that you keep it real on the show. We get to see you and business relationship. And we heard some crazy rumors. There was alleged 911 call, an incident that happened. I heard I got my finger bit. I heard you got your finger bit. Yes but that was hairstyle battle or something. It was crazy. But you know every single year, i do not know if you. If you remember me and Vince are getting divorced. Yes. I don't know where this is coming from [LAUGH] but the devil is alive and we're together. Amen. So in that instant let's clear it up for the record because we want to make sure we keep it real. Did it happen? I ain't call 911. I don't have a male assistant. It's just Vince and I when we travel together. I don't have security. We don't roll like that, we're regular people. Yeah, yeah and I'm so glad that you cleared up cuz there's another story that popped up. You keep it so real. Another story? Yeah, there's another story. What happened? So this story involves a lady who says that she had, no I'm rolling my eyes already too. [INAUDIBLE] [LAUGH] Well, you know, you said that she had a baby, fathered a child while you were with Vince. What is going on with that, is there a paternity test that's pending, what is happening? [CROSSTALK] So, here is the thing, the only reason why I chose to address it, was for it to not to become a thing, you know what I mean? Because it's a fictitious story. The night before my wedding, my Husband was over at Tony's house, he was very afraid, of course, like every other guy. And no, I don't even know this lady, I don't know this beautiful child and obviously, somebody on Facebook's child. My husband, even if he did step outside of our marriage, and I took him back. You would know about this. You would know, because you keep it so real. You are on TV, you go to Instagram and share with us on social media, you are an open book. I'm not that much of a liar because I have no memory, so you have to be able to remember your lies to be a good liar. I know that's right. So you're reading the story, you're hanging out at Home, you and Logan and then Vince. How did this story all unfold? How did Vince react to it when he found out what was going on? Well he found out after I posted [LAUGH] He found out, hang on wait a minute I had a little bit too much time that day and what happened was I had my little phone and I kept getting tagged and then I was just like, I didn't think it was going to blow up the way that it did to be honest, because I didn't really think twice about it. And so, I decide to let it be known that, if this was his child, or if he did have a child outside of our marriage, and I decided to take him back, that's not the type of woman I am like, I'm gonna stand by with my husband, and gonna love every part of my husband. I can't just love the part that I like about him. Mm-hm. That's not marriage. Mm-hm [BLANK_AUDIO]
