Getting your Trinity Audio player ready…

After nearly a year of touring, R&B star SZA was forced to finally take a break. Though she’d been slated to join her Top Dawg Entertainment comrades for The Championship Tour, which would criss-cross North America for a slew of dates through May and June, last week, SZA had to step away.

The singer shared a statement from her Top Dawg boss alerting fans that he was pulling her from the tour because of swollen vocal cords. SZA also admitted she’s been struggling to find a solution to the problem for months.

“I’ve been touring for 11 months. This didn’t happen overnight. I’ve been troubleshooting for a while now and usually steroids and pushing through help. They don’t this time. I’m not sick my voice just won’t f–king work,” SZA shared last week.

Well, a few days later, the singer updated fans and spoiler: things aren’t looking so great.

In a series of now-deleted tweets, the singer said her voice is “permanently injured.”

“My voice is permanently injured. Great !!!!!!!!!!!!! YAYYYYYUUYH!!!!!!!!” she tweeted.

“Tonight was the test. That settles that,” she added in another tweet before asking for space. “I just wanna be left alone my priorities are f–ked up. They been f–ked up. I need space goodbye.”

Here’s hoping the “Broken Clocks” singer will take a much-needed break to receive proper care.
