Crowe is known of her work creating and photographing intricate braid designs on black women — and Solange most certainly celebrates the magic of our hair, so this SNL collaboration between the two artists was perfection.
Solange’s background dancers and band were equally as ethereal, dressed in all white and sporting a variety of natural hairstyles. For her second song of the evening, “Don’t Touch My Hair,” Solange kept with the white theme and rocked a bikini-esque top, high-wasited trousers and those same stunning silver boots. As for her hair? She traded in her sparkly headpiece for a halo of hair in the form of stretched out Afro that was parted in the middle. And let the record show that Solange’s sister Beyoncé and mother Tina Lawson were on hand for some sisterly and motherly support. Too sweet!
