“Here’s something you need to know about Tiffany Haddish,” the breakout star of Girls Trip says ahead of her hosting turn on Saturday Night Live. “She pushes buttons.” That especially goes for literal buttons.
Haddish features alongside SNL cast member Aidy Bryant in a new promo for this weekend’s episode — and she does, indeed, push that button that’s so conveniently attached to the main hallway. Despite a string of warnings from Bryant, the comedienne finds out all the button does is dim the lights… and eject Kyle Mooney from the studio.
On a side note, we’re loving how Bryant always refers to Tiffany Haddish as “Tiffany Haddish.” Let’s make that a thing.
Haddish struggled through homelessness and post-foster care before she got her big break. Now, she’s talking about a potential sequel to Girls Trip, the comedy hit of the summer, and taking one of the largest stages on television with SNL. She’ll host the late-night sketch comedy series this Saturday, Nov. 8 opposite musical guest Taylor Swift.
“I still drive a Honda HR-V. It’s a hybrid. … I still have a fake Michael Kors purse, but I got a real Givenchy bag and Jada just gave me a Fendi bag,” she told PEOPLE in October. “I haven’t paid for these bag[s] — these are gifts.”
Chance the Rapper will host SNL the following weekend on Nov. 18 with musical guest Eminem.
