Actress Sherri Shepherd has apologized to comedian Ricky Harris’ family for filming and posting the physical altercation that took place during his funeral this week.
A fight erupted at the funeral on Tuesday, and Shepherd took to periscope to share her shock at the incident --which involved Snoop Dogg.
“I would like to sincerely apologize to the family of Ricky Harris and the community of Long Beach, CA for the periscope video that was filmed outside of his memorial service,” she told Essence.com in a statement. “I would never intentionally disrespect his honor and legacy and I'm truly sorry for any distress the video caused.”

Snoop Dogg, a childhood friend of Harris’, was apparently attacked by a person in the funeral home. His bodyguard stepped in to defend his client.
“I can’t believe they’re fighting at a funeral!” Shepherd said while filming.“It’s so disrespectful. So disrespectful to his memory.”
Shepherd says her decision to film was impulsive, and she did not expect the media to pick up the story. The multiple videos were posted by TMZ.
Harris was best-known for his role as Malvo on the comedy Everybody Hates Chris. He died in December at the age of 54.
