If you ever find yourself in need of a way to deposit a million dollar check, take note from Serena Williams that going through your bank’s drive-thru is not the way to go about it.
Williams recently appeared in Uninterrupted’s Kneading Dough series, where she revealed that she thought she could just casually pull up to the bank and deposit a $1 million check.
“I remember I went through the drive-thru to deposit my check, and then they were like, ‘I think you need to come in for this,’ and so I ended up going inside … ‘Just put it in my account!’” she said, joking, “I should’ve took a picture of it. I guess selfies didn’t exist back then!”
Williams added that it was her first big check, so she wasn’t quite sure how to deposit it, but figured it was easy as depositing any other check.
Clearly, she’s playing tennis for love of the sport, not money.
