Just because they've got a main gig as the live band for NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" doesn't mean the Roots are taking a break from making hit records. The seven-piece hip hop band drops their 11th album, "How I Got Over," tomorrow, but die-hard Roots fans can get an early listen thanks to MySpace Music.
Just because they’ve got a main gig as the live band for NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” doesn’t mean the Roots are taking a break from making hit records. The seven-piece hip hop band drops their 11th album, “How I Got Over,” tomorrow, but die-hard Roots fans can get an early listen thanks to MySpace Music. All 14 tracks on the record are available in their entirety on www.myspace.com and listeners can also buy tracks that they love. “How I Got Over” stays in line with the Roots’ signature jazzy vibe and packs in guest appearances from R&B soul heavyweight John Legend, former band member Dice Raw, Little Brother’s Phonte Dirty Projectors Amber Coffman and young Cali indie hip hopper Blu.
