Rihanna has us all teary-eyed after reuniting with her high school physical education teacher earlier this week.

The singer bumped into her old teacher, Roddy Estwick, while at the Cricket World Cup in England. Estwick is now the assistant coach for the West Indies cricket team.

Speaking with Barbados Today, the singer and beauty mogul recalled the affect Estwick had on her childhood.

“I love this man. I came here to see the match and was cheering West Indies to a victory,” she said. “They played great, but we just didn’t make it. But I also wanted to see Mr. Estwick.”

“He made a lasting impact on my life and he really offered great advice to me and many others when we were at school at Combermere,” she continued. “I just wanted to let everyone know what he meant to me in my development and what he did for us back at school in Barbados.”

The singer also took time to greet all the players on the West Indies team, posing for pictures.

Later, she shared a snap of herself with Estwick on Instagram Stories, writing, “My mentor, my champ, my MVP, my school teacher, my first Jay Brown (co-founder and CEO of Roc Nation). You made my day!”

Rihanna is currently working on a new album, which she said will be reggae-influenced. She also recently became the first Black woman to head a luxury fashion house under LVMH.
