The President became a prankster this morning when he called into Washington D.C. news station WTOP’s “Ask The Governor” radio show under the name “Barry from D.C.”
After he got through to the Governor of Virginia, Tim Kaine, the Obama quickly identified himself as “The President of the United States” and joked that he had “some questions about traffic in Northern Virginia.”
President Obama continued with praise for Governor Kaine, who is chairman of the Democratic National Committee and worked with Obama during his campaign.
“But rather than go there, I just wanted to say how proud we are of your service as Governor of the commonwealth of Virginia, and just wish you and your family all the best this Christmas season after just a terrific round of service for the people of Virginia,” President Obama told Governor Kaine.
“Well, Mr. President, that means a lot. As I think back about my four years as governor, I still think my happiest day as governor was in November of 2008 and the great work we did together across the nation and in Virginia was spectacular and I’m excited to continue to be in service, as they say,” the Governor said.President Obama followed his comments with a joke that both Kaine’s wife and the first lady were “superior” to their husbands.
“You and me have to stick together, since we’re married to better people.”The President ended the call by saying “we’re proud of you,” and Governor Kaine wished him happy holidays.
