Could Nicki Minaj be married?
The “Megatron” rapper pretty much confirmed it on Friday when she revealed that she had taken out a marriage license with her boyfriend Kenneth Petty.
“We did get our marriage license,” Minaj said on her Apple Beats 1 “Queen Radio” show. “I think I have what I was striving for…just happiness. It was hard to get to a happy place. Now that I’m here I don’t want to compromise that for anyone or anything.”
The duo, who have known each other since they were teens, have been dating since late last year.
Fans were initially nervous when the couple first began seeing each other due to Petty’s criminal past. He has served time for manslaughter, and remains a registered sex offender in New York state.
Minaj has addressed his record, posting on Instagram that “he was 15, she was 16… in a relationship. But go awf internet.”
Petty was featured prominently in Minaj’s newest music video, for “Megatron,” which dropped earlier on Friday.
