The holiday season is just beginning and there’s no better way to kick things off than with some classic Christmas music.
Today, Mary J. Blige released the video for “Have Yourself a Merry Christmas,” lifted from her new holiday album, A Mary Christmas. She told ESSENCE.com that she didn’t want to “restructure” the song, but sing it the way people love. “I was definitely not trying to make hip-hop soul Christmas songs or some club music Christmas songs,” said Blige. “I’m just like everyone else, I don’t like when people take the nostalgia out of the classics.”
