President Obama showcased his amazing vocal talent once again at last night’s White House blues concert. He joined music legends B.B. King and Mick Jagger on “Sweet Home Chicago.”
Just last month, the president sang a snippet of Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together,” causing quite a stir in the blogosphere.
“This music speaks to something universal. No one goes through life without both joy and pain, triumph and sorrow,” said President Obama about the significance of blues music, reports The YBF. “The blues gets all of that, sometimes with just one lyric or note.”
Other performers that night included, Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews, Gary Clark Jr., and Taraji P. Henson, while Booker T. Jones served as the evening’s band leader.
The president’s performance will air on PBS on February 27th as part of the channel’s ongoing “In Performance at the White House” series.
