Twenty-five years after Coming to America debuted, fans are still begging (and impatiently waiting) for a sequel with our favorite prince.

Last night, Eddie Murphy appeared on The Arsenio Hall Show and revealed why a follow-up was never created. Murphy said several lawsuits sprang up after the first film. A guy claiming to be an African prince, who came to America to find the woman in Michael Jackson’s Thriller video, was among the many suits. Apparently, making a sequel wasn’t worth the legal risk.

But that doesn’t mean one couldn’t happen now.

We’ll keep hope alive.
