Set 300 years after the Salem Witch Trials, the dark series centers around witchcraft in New Orleans. The clip, titled “Initiation,” gives fans a tantalizing preview of what the show has in store for its fall return.
Bassett moves in a new direction with her character, playing Marie Laveau, the leader of a coven. The actress’ role is mirrored after the real-life 19th century voodoo practitioner of the same name.
