Michael B. Jordan has offered to replace a teen’s retainer after the actor’s shirtless scene in Black Panther caused her to break it.
A post from Tumblr went viral this week when a user tweeted a dentist’s story about his patient’s strong thirst for MBJ. “One of my patients came in for an emergency visit because she snapped the wire on her retainer watching the movie when MBJ took his shirt off she clenched her teeth so f–king hard she snapped it,” the post read.
Sophia Robb, the patient with a lust so strong it breaks retainers, told Teen Vogue she thought it was funny that her orthodontist’s post went viral. “I always thought he was the coolest person, so to see that I had the honor of making him laugh was great,” she told the publication.
Sophia retweeted the post, writing, “Wait. That girl is me. That is my orthodontist’s Tumblr. This is a post about me? I’m going to kill myself.”
Adding, “This is literally my orthodontist and he’s the chillest person I have ever met even though he EXPOSED ME ON THE INTERNET.”
The post soon caught the attention of MBJ, who offered to pay for Sophia’s retainer since it was partially his fault. “.@pixyrue since I feel partly responsible for breaking your retainers let me know if I can replace them,” the actor tweeted.
It’s unlikely that MBJ will need to replace the teen’s retainer. Sophia told Teen Vogue that her orthodontist was able to glue it back together.
