Stephen Belafonte has asked for joint legal and physical custody of their 5-year-old daughter.
It's been more than two weeks since pop singer Mel B filed for divorce from husband Stephen Belafonte and he has finally responded to her petition to end their union.
E! News reports that Belafonte has asked the judge for joint legal and physical custody of their daughter, Madison who they welcomed in 2011 during happier times.
The producer also filed a counter petition citing "irreconcilable differences" in reference to why they split and he has also requested that the court terminate spousal support to the former Spice Girl and America's Got Talent Judge.
The couple tied the knot in 2007 in a surprise Las Vegas ceremony after dating for only 5 months.
