Master P thinks it’s time for Colin Kaepernick to start a league of his own.

The mogul was stopped by TMZ and told paps, “I’ll help him start his own league. I think he should, I mean he’s a great football player. I think the NFL should have some competition.”

Kaepernick has been a free agent since March after the NFL reportedly blackballed the former San Francisco 49er. The former NFL player used his platform last season to protest the national anthem and bring awareness to police brutality, systemic injustice, and inequality.

Discussing ownership in the Black community and next steps after #TakeAKnee, Master P told ESSENCE, “We’re exercising freedom of speech and freedom of expression [with the protest], but we’re not going to change anything if we don’t own anything.”
