Saturday Night Live comedian Leslie Jones took to Twitter when no designer would dress her for the premiere of her upcoming Ghostbusters reboot.
“It’s so funny how there are no designers wanting to help me with a premiere dress for movie,” she tweeted. “Hmmm that will change and I remember everything.”

Her call out prompted support from fans and designers alike, including former Project Runway contestant, now CFDA member Christian Siriano and Neiman Marcus rep, Natalie Bowman.

The designer dress discrimination dilemma is not a new phenomenon to Hollywood. Even Queen Bey, herself recalls a time when no designers would dress “four Black, country, curvy girls.”
In response to the praise Christian Siriano received for stepping up to aid Ms. Jones, the designer humbly tweeted, “It shouldn’t be exceptional to work with brilliant people just because they’re not sample size. Congrats aren’t in order, a change is.”
