LaTavia Roberson is “so proud of everyone” in Destiny’s Child, despite opinions to the contrary.

The former DC member took to Instagram to share a throwback from her days in the group, writing, “This is from a shoot in London. Ppl call me the bitter one but how can I be bitter when I’m so proud of everyone in this picture. We created a legacy that can’t be touched. ALL 4 of us. We have a bond that no one can understand.”

This is from a shoot in London. Ppl call me the bitter one but how can I be bitter when I’m so proud of everyone in this picture. We created a legacy that can’t be touched. ALL 4 of us. We have a bond that no one can understand. I can’t compare my chapter 36 to Kelly’s chapter 36 or Beyoncé or LeToya’s so why does the world compare us? So no I’ve never been bitter these are my sisters!!!! Keep winning @beyonce @kellyrowland @letoyaluckett & even @michellewilliams no #tbt just a treat for the fans that’s been down since day 1 💋💋💋 #sisters

She added, “I can’t compare my chapter 36 to Kelly’s chapter 36 or Beyoncé or LeToya’s so why does the world compare us? So no I’ve never been bitter these are my sisters!!!! Roberson met Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and LeToya Luckett in elementary school, forming the group Girl’s Tyme, which later became Destiny’s Child. Roberson left the group in February 2000.

Post-Destiny’s Child, Roberson has worked on numerous projects of her own and appeared in film and television.

In August 2016, Roberson opened up about fighting for her life following pregnancy complications, revealing that the emergency that left her in critical condition also resulted in the loss of her unborn baby. Thanking fans for their support, she wrote, “I lost my daughter but MY GOD never makes mistakes. Thank you for your ongoing prayers! I know my angel is watching over our family!!! I love you all.”
