It’s 1989 and Kimora Lee Simmons, the youngest Chanel bride (it’s a tradition for the closing look in a couture collection to be a wedding gown), just closed her very first Chanel Haute Couture show. At just 13 years old, the supermodel was discovered by the late Karl Lagerfeld and signed to an exclusive contract with the fashion house. Now, almost 40 years later, she’s back. This time, on the front row with her daughter Ming Lee Simmons as her plus one.

“What a wonderful full circle moment it was for me to attend the Chanel show in Paris with my first baby,” Simmons wrote in an Instagram post last night. “My first memories were here walking when I was 13 years old.” While we’ve long seen the mother-daughter duo at fashion shows (Kimora used to do the final walk for Baby Phat with her daughters in the 2000s), attending the Chanel Fall/Winter 2026-2027 show was a special kind of homecoming for the model.

According to the show notes, the collection was all about “day and night, simplicity and iridescence” which informed the duo’s front row style. For Kimora, unbuttoned pearls formed a high front slit on her white silk dress which revealed a pair of black thigh-high boots underneath. Then, she slipped into a black tweed jacket, while her classic necklaces and handbag (she has a full collection of rare Chanel bags) were her accessories for the night.

As for her beauty, makeup artist Naïma Bremer gave the Chanel bride blurred black eyeshadow and even darker eyeliner (which juxtaposed her pearlescent nails). On the hair, stylist Jack Luckhurst used Color Wow’s Dreamcoat Extra Strength Treatment to tame the frizz on her silk press and Pop & Lock High Gloss Finish for the shine. Just like the show notes, Kimora looked simple and iridescent while playing off of light and dark tones.

Ming Lee, on the other hand, omitted light almost entirely. With the exception of her square French tips, her fashion for the night was black-on-black-on-black. Specifically, a delicate long sleeve layered under a tank top with a little mini skirt and knee-high boots. Her sleeve was rolled just enough to reveal the bracelets on her wrists while the strap of her handbag was wrapped around her fingers.

Like mother like daughter they say! Ming also wore a silk press, but hers was mid-length with a curl at the end, styled by Venner James, instead of bone-straight to the waist. Meanwhile, her makeup artist Chynara Kojoeva proved Ming didn’t need much. Her look was complete with just eyelashes and a trending blurred lip.

On the front row with other celebrities, including Teyana Taylor, Oprah, and Lori Harvey, the stamp of approval from supermodel and long-time Chanel muse, Kimora Lee Simmons, was even more impactful. Her review? “[It] was marvelous,” she exclaimed. “Refreshing and fun.”
