Kevin Hart has sustained “major back injuries” from a tragic car crash in California early Sunday, according to reports.
The comedian was apparently a passenger in his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda with two other people when the driver, Jared Black, lost control of the vehicle. The car went off the road and rolled down an embankment in Calabasas.
Two of the three occupants were trapped in the vehicle, forcing Hart to leave the scene to his nearby residence to get medical attention, according to a California Highway Patrol incident report obtained by CNN.
Hart and Black were later transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. The third passenger did not suffer any substantial injuries.
The car had been Hart’s 40th birthday gift to himself last month. He celebrated the milestone with a huge celeb-packed birthday party.
