Celebrities paid their final respects to late director John Singleton on Monday.

Many stars who worked with Singleton, such as Ice Cube, Tyrese, Taraji P. Henson, and Nia Long arrived at the Angelus Funeral Home in Los Angeles to celebrate the acclaimed director’s life. Other celebrities including Tina Knowles, and even Congresswoman Maxine Waters Singleton were in attendance.

Singleton suffered a major stroke on April 17, checking himself into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center before suffering another massive stroke a week later. On April 29, Singleton’s family announced that the director had passed away after being taken off of life support. He was 51.

The Oscar-winning director will reportedly be buried at Forest Lawn in Hollywood Hills.

A rep for Singleton told People magazine that a larger memorial service will be held later.

The director is survived by his mother, Sheila, and his seven children.
