We need a moment of silence y’all. We may be seeing less of Idris Elba on social media in 2020.

The Hobbs & Shaw star recently opened up about how he has lost the taste for social media and that he would be stepping back from it.

“I’ve been trying to wean myself off. I used to post a lot more, but it’s been putting me off lately,” he told Fast Company in an interview. “And Twitter’s just not how I want to receive my news.”

He continued: “I read the news aggregated on my iPad, but I can’t check it constantly—I’m not proud of it, but it’s true—because it makes me feel depressed.”

Elba’s most recent memorable social media moment was amid the chatter surrounding John Legend being named People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” earlier this month.

Legend’s wife cracked jokes on Twitter while defending her husband, and asked Elba to drop his photos from 1995 to prove that not everyone looked great 24 years ago.

yeah but let's see an @idriselba pic from 1995 (prob still very hot) https://t.co/7DtT72InGk

When Elba obliged, we were all the more blessed for it.

We hope he doesn’t stay away too long!
