First Lady Diary: Giving Thanks on Veteran's Day
First Lady Michelle Obama made a surprise visit to Ramstein's Air Base in Germany today, where she joined 200 soldiers for a special Veteran's Day meal -- even lending a hand in the cafeteria line to help serve the young men and women and their families. Mrs. Obama also walked through the room, talking to soldiers and thanking them for their dedication to their country. "We are so grateful to all of you," she told them. "Not just our servicemen and women, but their kids, wives, husbands and parents." Here, the First Lady praises 10-year-old Malaysia Chevere for being a "straight A student."
Here's what you had to say:
Katherine commented via Facebook: "Here's a toast to the First Lady Michelle Obama and a special shout out to my granddaughter currently serving in the US Army."
Gwendolyn wrote via Facebook: "Thank you, daddy -- Sgt. Hawkins (Vietnam). I love you."
