We are all still reeling from JAY-Z’s new album 4:44, which features some of his most intimate lyrics yet, exploring marriage, infidelity, and the mistakes he’s made.

Jay also throws a few shots, one of which is aimed at Eric Benét.

The album’s first track “Kill Jay Z” includes the lines, “You almost went Eric Benét / Let the baddest girl in the world get away.”

Obviously, with all the buzz surrounding the album’s release, Benét was bound to hear the lyric. He took to Twitter with a quick response, tweeting, “Hey yo #Jayz! Just so ya know, I got the baddest girl in the world as my wife….like right now!”

For anyone unsure of why Benét might feel a little salty, Jay’s line refers to Benét’s relationship with Halle Berry, who he was married to from 2001-2003.

Benét is currently married to Manuela Testolini, who was previously married to Prince.

It’s doubtful this will spawn any sort of beef between the two, but maybe Benét will mention it on his next album.
