Donald Trump Speaks On 'Horrible' Jussie Smollett Attack: 'It Doesn’t Get Worse'

Answering a question from April Ryan, Trump told reporters opened up about the attack on Smollett earlier this week.

Donald Trump is speaking out about the attack on Empire star Jussie Smollett.

Responding to a question from reporter April Ryan, Trump said, “That I can tell you is horrible. It doesn’t get worse.”

Smollett was attacked early Tuesday morning by two men who hurled homophobic and racist slurs at him, Chicago Police said. The attackers reportedly called Smollett “that f-ggot Empire n—er” before beating him and tying a noose around his neck. Smollett was able to get away and transport himself to a nearby hospital.

Police have since released photos of the suspects.

The actor’s Empire co-stars have spoken out about the attack, sending their well-wishes to Smollett.

Following the attack, Empire productions sources said security around the actor has been beefed up with Smollett receiving round-the-clock armed security.
