Cory Hardrict On Why He's Looking Forward To Having A Daughter With Wife Tia Mowry-Hardrict

Cory Hardrict On Why He’s Looking Forward To Having A Daughter With Wife Tia Mowry-Hardrict
By Lauren Porter · Updated October 24, 2020

Fatherhood is about to change a little bit for actor Cory Hardrict who is expecting a daughter with his wife, Tia Mowry-Hardrict.

The couple, who wed in April 2008 have a 6-year-old son, Cree Taylor and with a new addition joining their adorable family any day now, the Chicago-native can’t wait for his baby girl to have him wrapped around her finger.

“I’m really ready for it because I’m ready for some peace and quiet in the house,” Hardrict told ESSENCE with a laugh. “I hear little girls are so soft, their temperament, they’re so angelic so I’m ready for that!”

Hardrict stars in the new 50 Cent executively produced Crackle drama series, The Oath and wants nothing more than to raise his daughter to be strong and powerful like her mom.

“I’ve always wanted a little baby girl, I’ll probably leave my show, riding around in my car, looking in the back at her car seat, [seeing] her little burettes and all that. I wanna see all of it. Her hair done real nice and some good ultra sheen and you take it back to the green grease, you know what I’m saying? I wanna enjoy and cherish all those moments just being a father and raising a beautiful Black young queen in this world.”

In March, Mowry-Hardrict told PEOPLE that she’s leaving naming their daugther up to her husband, who also picked out their son’s moniker, but the name is a secret until they meet their little one.

“We’re juggling between a couple of names right now. We don’t want to reveal it,” she told the magazine at the 2018 ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood luncheon. “We like unisex names.”

Hardrict chimed in, “Names that show some strength and some power behind it. It has a great meaning. So that’s what we’re looking for.”

Whatever baby girl Hardrict’s name is going to be, we can’t wait to meet her!
