Murphy was well-known for his recurring role on Chappelle’s Show, where he told hilarious stories about his misadventures with celebrities like Rick James and Prince. The comedian and actor is also known for his work on The Boondocks and Black Jesus. He co-wrote Norbit and Vampire in Brooklyn with his brother, Eddie Murphy. His last role, per IMDB, will be in the upcoming fourth season of Power.

Our thoughts and prayer are with Murphy’s family and friends.
