There are so many reasons why we love Lauren London.
She gorgeous, has a laid-back around-the-way girl personality, and keeps her personal life fairly private. But her best quality has to be her lack of care for what others have to say about her.
On Tuesday, the 32 year old became a Twitter trending topic after photos revealed she’d gained a little post-baby weight. While the majority of the internet celebrated her, there were a few trolls making fun of her new, womanly curves.
As background, Lauren and rapper, Nipsey Hussle welcomed a baby boy last fall. She also has a 7-year-old son with rapper, Lil Wayne.
Naturally, we expected Lauren to ignore haters but she surprised us all last night with an Instagram response.
“I’ve been getting compliments on my looks for years,” she wrote on Instagram. “I NEVER let it ‘gas me’ because I knew the enduring value in all things is internal. When I decided to have my son, I knew the Internet would be cruel. I knew the casting directors would consider me out of commission for at least a year. I knew that MY BODY would change, but I did not let the fear of these things effect me to the point of going against my spirit.”
Adding, “I asked myself: would you rather be at conflict with yourself and at peace with the world? Or at peace with yourself and at conflict with the world? I choose the latter, at that moment I was ready for whatever came with it. This lil weight will get worked off and WHO I AM WILL BE UNCOMPROMISED. WIN-WIN. NO?”
There you have it. Lauren London is officially unbothered and focusing on being her best self, for no one’s validation.
