Cardi B has the best answer for why she isn’t buying everyone Christmas gifts this year.

The rapper recently stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she was asked about a recent tweet that read, “I’m not giving NO ADULTS NO Christmas gift.”

The fun-loving rapper gave the most Cardi B answer to why when she told Fallon, “Everybody that I know got kids and that’s just a lot of kids. And, I got new god kids out of nowhere. Once you start making money everybody wants you to be they kids godmother or something.”

Really, who wouldn’t want to be on Cardi’s Christmas list. The singer has had an amazing 2017. Her hit “Bodak Yellow” the fifth female rapper to ever top the Billboard Hot 100 and the second to do so since Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing)” in 1998. And, the rapper’s net worth reportedly rose from $600,000 to $4 million.

But, her rise to fame almost didn’t happen. Cardi recently revealed that she thought about leaving hip hop after being kicked off of a song by an unnamed rapper because another rapper didn’t think she was big enough to be on the track.

“I did a verse to somebody’s song, and other artists were on the song as well,” she said during an Instagram Live session. “I was so excited because I felt like my verse was so poppin’. Then, the artist told me that I couldn’t be on the song anymore because one of the artists that was on the song felt like I was too small and they were too big for me to be on the same song with them. I was just fresh off Love & Hip Hop and everything, and that shit broke my heart.”

Thankfully, the incident didn’t derail Cardi’s enthusiasm or else we wouldn’t have been given the song of the summer. Can you imagine 2017 without “Bodak Yellow”?
