Bow Wow is in the hot seat yet again.

The 29-year-old entertainer tried to publicly offer longtime friend Omarion a little support after learning of his recent breakup with girlfriend Apryl Jones, but his choice of words rubbed more than a few fans the wrong way.  “Bro, you got your freedom! We can hang again,” he exclaimed in an Instagram caption next to a photo of he and Omarion together. “There’s plenty of ig thots and vlive and AOD dancers bro in the world that will be happy to cheer you up during this time!”

Needless to say, the post was met with an overflow of colorful commentary from Bow Wow’s female followers who weren’t in favor of his advice for Omarion in the wake of his split. Some quickly reminded Bow Wow that Omarion is a father and questioned why he would encourage his friend to seek comfort from “ig thots” or strippers in light of that. A few other fans saw no issue with Bow Wow’s post, suggesting that it’s normal for a guy to want to take his friend to the strip club to take his mind off of a breakup. Once Bow caught wind of the backlash, he responded with a follow up post where he spoke directly to his female followers and alluded to there being a double standard with regard to how men are expected to conduct themselves following a breakup versus expectations for women in the same situations.

So since my female followers have a lot to say to me this am, why is it yall can do this when your bestie break up and why cant the fellas encourage they homies the same way yall do? A trip to the gentlemen's club wont save your boy life but just to get him out to talk and relax a little theres no crime in that. Yall women tooo uptight nowadays nagging is at an all time high textn us getting mad over what we post what pictures we like. Ease up on us ladies

As for Apryl’s thoughts on Bow Wow’s post  “celebrating” the end of she and Omarion’s relationship, she says his comments are none of her concern. “As far as Bow Wow, his friend is Omari,” she told E! News. “Whatever he feels like he needs do or say for media purposes doesn’t pertain to me. I have two beautiful children that are my main focus.”

Apryl and Omarion are the parents of 1-year-old son Megaa Omari and 4-month-old daughter A’mei Kazuko.
