Almost two years into his single life post divorce, the singer was introduced to the model at a business dinner and a geniune friendship formed. While romance wasn’t initially on the table for the pair, the passing of time proved they couldn’t imagine being without each other.

After he had a dream one night in Jaunary 2015 following the release of his sixth studio album Non-Fiction, the singer (born Shaffer Smith) proposed after Renay put him on the spot but he hesitated because he didn’t have a ring.
When Crystal assurred him he didn’t need one because he already had her heart, he plotted to pop the question the right way.
On a family birthday trip to Orlando, in front of everyone she loved, Ne-Yo decided that was the moment to ask the About the Business star to be his forever.
The couple tied the knot in February and welcomed their first child, a son, a few weeks later.
