2016 kicked off with a surprise marriage for Keshia and Ed that no one really saw coming. After announcing her pregnancy, things headed south for these two very very quickly. There was a divorce filing, a request for a parternity test and a weird guessing game of what’s going to happen next. Pulliam is due to give birth to their daughter, Ella Grace, in January 2017.

Between her rather messy departure from The Real to the ever-swirling rumors that a divorce is imminent for these two, this year was a rough one. When it came to Nick Cannon and Chilli, the guessing game was on about the status of their relationship. After appearing in a steamy setting to shoot Nick’s video for his song, “If I Was Your Man,” the rumors of a new coupledom between he and the TLC singer were definitely on. It didn’t help that they were often seen rather close and cuddly while out and about this summer but as it turns out, the two are just friends and only that.

2016 was the year of Kimye and it wasn’t always for the best unfortunately. After releasing his eighth studio album, The Life of Pablo, in February Kanye was off to a good start before more Twitter rants, Kim’s Parisian robbery and his hospitalizaiton. Prayers go up that 2017 is better for these two.

They welcomed their daughter, Iman “Junie” Tayla Shumpert Jr., had a (surprise!!!) wedding, he won a NBA championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers, she became a mainstream darling after appearing in Kanye West’s “Fade” video and they all eyes were definitely on them during NYFW this year. They can truly only go up from here!
Mary J. Blige deserves no more drama in her life after the 2016 she’s had. Her 12-year marriage to former manager Kendu Isaacs is over after she filed for divorce citing irreconcible differences. To be a bitter Betty, he in requested for nearly $130,000 a month in spousal support for everything ranging from maintaining a routine with a personal chef and trainers to having an actual clothing stipend and chartitable funds allocated. Luckily Mary isn’t let it get her down. While she admits her strength is being tested, she’s moving through the thick of it with nothing but style and grace.
These two should just cut the act and announce their relationship already! After releasing a joint project, Twenty88, in April, the rumors of Big Sean and Jhene Aiko being an item only got better and better. After Aiko filed for divorce from her husband Dot Da Genius, all eyes were on Sean to make a move but we’re still waiting for the official word that love is in the air for these two. Fingerss crossed 2017 delivers.
Don’t come for Monica’s marriage under any circumstances! The singer had to defend her union to husband former NBA star Shannon Brown quite a bit in 2016 but one thing is for sure, she will always be so gone against her haters especially since her man is forever by her side.
T.I. and Tiny are all about their family hustle in 2016. The ATL couple welcomed their 7th child, a daughter, Heiress, but rumors have it that these two may be headed for splittsville as they might be living seperately. Who knows but a divorce from the King of the South and his longtime lady love would certainly sadden us.
Oh Drake and Rihanna…your union would definitely be a dream come true. After presenting Rihanna with her Vanguard award at the 2016 MTV VMA’s Drake admitted he’d been in love with the Bajan beauty since he was 22 years old (that’s 8 years!). There was a kiss that followed on stage, peak PDA in a Miami night club, matching tattoos and more. While their was no official word of a relationship, there was definitely something there between these two. Only time will tell how it all unfolds, but seriously, AubRih stop playing with us.
