Carmelo and La La were introduced in 2003 by friend, DJ Clue. Initially, she was hesitant to date the young athlete but at the suggestion of DJ Clue, she gave in. “I was hosting a show on MTV with DJ Clue at the time, and he said, ‘I really want to introduce you to someone that wants to meet you.’ He introduced us, and it started off as a friendship, which evolved over time into something more,” she told Munaluchi Bride in 2011.
When La La and Carmelo met, she was under the impression that he was older than he was. Melo was impressed by the TV personality after seeing her host MTV’s TRL and told her he was 21 in order to woo her. But in an interview with “Hollywood’s Mom Night” in 2011, La La, who is 4 years Melo’s senior, revealed she later learned that when they met he was only 19!

Lala hails from Brooklyn and Carmelo is from Red Hook. They are a classic New York love story!
“I’ve always been that girl that all of my friends come to for advice about relationships, about dating, about life,” said told Access Hollywood in 2013 while promoting her relationship advice book, The Love Playbook: Rules for Love, Sex and Happiness. “’Melo is so supportive of everything I’m doing.”
“I’m secure in my relationship,” Lala said of she and Melo back in 2012.
Even on the red carpet, the love between these two shines bright!
La La and Melo welcomed their son Kiyan in March of 2007. “My husband, my son and I have the best time when it’s just the three of us,” she told Latina Magazine in 2014. “It’s nice to all be together, put a movie on, lie in the bed and laugh. That’s my idea of a perfect, fun time.”
On the eve of their wedding, these two were ready to jump the broom!
On July 10, 2010, the Anthony’s became one in a gorgeous wedding at Cipriani’s in New York on 42nd Street.
