This week Hollywood producers and power couple Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil celebrated 19 years of marital bliss on Instagram and fans really felt the love.
Mara, the mastermind behind Being Mary Jane, The Game and Girlfriends, took a trip down memory lane on Wednesday, sharing a sweet photo of herself snuggled up with her husband and a throwback photos from their 1999 wedding day.
In her caption, Mara revealed that even 19 years later, she and Salim still feel like newlyweds. Aww! “Let’s keep defining and redefining this thing called Love and Partnership! #InTheLandOf #HopingToAlwaysWhisperInHisEar,” she wrote to her devoted husband.
Mara followed up that post with a sweet throwback share from their wedding day nearly two decades ago. When she posted the first shot, she cropped off her husband’s hair, so of course, she reposted the full shot shortly afterward.
The production partners are well known for their individual work and have found even more success working together. The Akils tied the knot in 1999. They have two sons together; Yasin Brock Akil who was born in 2007 and Nasir Brock Akil, born in 2009.
