Beyonce on VMAs Incident: ‘Oh, No, No, No!’
UPDATE 10/7/09: In an interview with Gayle King at last week’s Billboard Women in Music Event, Beyonce addressed the Kanye West-VMAs situation for the first time. “Well, I knew his intentions, and I knew he was standing up for art; and he told me before, when they said the nominees, he’s like, ‘You have this award,'” Beyonce told King after accepting her award for Woman of the Year. “And when they didn’t call my name he was, like, completely shocked. And when he walked on the stage, I was like, ‘No, no, no!’ and then he spoke, and I was like, ‘Oh, no, no, no!’ Check out a clip of the interview above.–ZH

Beyonce Named Billboard’s Woman of the Year
Beyonce’s got to be the hardest working woman in the game.
So much so that Billboard has pegged the award-winning songstress to receive its Woman of the Year Award at the 2009 Billboard Women In Music Event, which will be held in New York City on Friday, October 2.
In the past Ciara and Reba McEntire were among Woman of the Year honorees and record label honcho Sylvia Rhone will also receive a respectful nod.
The “Diva” will be on hand to accept the award, which is just another notch to add to her belt of achievements this year. Let’s see: she wowed us with her chart-topping female anthem “Single Ladies,” serenaded President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama with Ella Fritzgerald’s classic “At Last” for their first dance at an inaugural ball, rocked box offices with the No. 1 movie “Obsessed,” and embarked on an international tour. We can’t think of anyone else more deserving of the honor.–KNB
