Actress Amandla Stenberg has a new ‘do and she’s showing it off on the gram!

The youth activist shared a stunning photo of her new bald head, shaved for a new movie she just finished filming with acclaimed director Amma Asante. Posing in a swimsuit with a gorgeous sunset in the background, Stenberg regally stares back at the camera for the photo.

hi all- I just finished working on a film called Where Hands Touch directed by the incredible @iammaasante. The story is about the experience of biracial children growing up in Nazi Germany. I shaved my head for the role. Feels really good. I feel so aerodynamic now. I've achieved ultimate speed. 🙂 Hope your year is off to a good start. I know 2017 looks scary. I truly believe in the power of our words and the way we connect to each other. Sendin love your way.

“I just finished working on a film called Where Hands Touch directed by the incredible @iammaasante,” she captioned it. “The story is about the experience of biracial children growing up in Nazi Germany. I shaved my head for the role.”

Ama Asante has directed such movies as Belle and the upcoming movie A United Kingdom that looks at the relationship between Seretse Khama, the first president of Botswana and his white British wife. Where Hands Touch will be out in 2017.

As for Stenberg, she seems to be enjoying the freedom of a life without her signature curls: “Feels really good. I feel so aerodynamic now. I’ve achieved ultimate speed.”

She went on to wish everyone a belated Happy New Year: “Hope your year is off to a good start. I know 2017 looks scary. I truly believe in the power of our words and the way we connect to each other. Sendin love your way.”

What do you think of her cut?
